ASUS intros flagship business notebook, the B80AOver the weekend, ASUS introduced a new flagship notebook to its line-up, the 14.1-inch B80A. Buyers will be able to pick from a choice of four Intel Core 2 Duo processors, with clock speeds that include 2GHz, 2.16GHz, 2.4GHz, and 2.5GHz. While 1GB of RAM is standard, it can be optioned up to 4GB. The B80A will support a fast 7,200RPM SATA hard disk drive that can be found in a desktop PC, with an optional 250GB HDD. Otherwise, there are 5,400RPM SATA drives available in 160GB, 250GB and 320GB capacities. For wireless connectivity, a Draft-N Bluetooth connection is built-in.

The B80A will also include a 1.3-megapixel camera for video conferencing, while security is ensured via a built-in fingerprint scanner and TPM-level security software. The keyboard can withstand spills up to 50ccs (about 1.7 fluid ounces), while its LED lighting lets users work in low-light conditions. A docking station can be ordered to allow quick and easy connection to peripherals. A multi DVD drive is standard fare. For entertainment, an HDMI output is also included on all trims of the B80A. Including a six-cell battery, the whole package weighs in at 5.4lbs.

Buyers will be able to order from a choice of Vista operating systems, ranging from Home Basic through Home Premium to Business and Ultimate.
