ASUS yesterday unveiled its ARES CG6155 desktop PC, designed for very high-end gamers. The tower was modeled after Eastern and Western armors of the past and present. The looks are backed up with more durable hardware such as dual power supplies delivering 2kW of energy and liquid cooling technology to ensure system stability. The PC uses Intel's quad-core Extreme QX9650 CPU rated at 3GHz, with ASUS providing the necessary software to overclock the chip to 4GHz.
The NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI works in conjunction with a GeForce GTX 280 3-Way SLI graphics card and can hold up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. The hard drive can be ordered with up to 4TB of capacity and comes preloaded with Microsoft's Vista Ultimate. Two gigabit Ethernet jacks provide the ARES with LAN gaming capabilities. ASUS' gamer PC can double as an entertainment center thanks to its Blu-ray optical disc drive and high-definition audio support.
ASUS is including a gaming-friendly keyboard and mouse with the ARES CG6155, along with a headset and mousepad. The company did not release specifics as to pricing or release information.
