Either frame has advanced image processing features, and is capable of displaying images as large as 48 megapixels or up to 100MB in size. Built-in memory for each is a healthy 200MB, which is filled up via transferring from compatible memory cards that include Memory Stick PRO and PRO Duo, SD, MMC, CF, Microdrive and xD Picture Card. A USB port also allows JPEG and RAW (SRF, SR2, ARW) images to be transferred directly from a digital camera or a connected PC.
A built-in sensor will adjust the orientation of photos depending on whether the frame is placed horizontally or stood up vertically, as well as turn off the lit-up Sony logo when in a vertical position. The frames can be set up to display photos in one of 10 slide shows, show a clock and calendar along with a photo, or display an index mode where users can see several photos at the same time. A remote control is included.
The DPF-D80 is available now, priced at nearly $180, while the DPF-D100 ships in November for about $280.
