Motorola intros pair of MOTONAV GPS systems

Motorola on Monday announced the release of two new portable navigation systems, the MOTONAV TN20 and MOTONAV TN30. The entry-level MOTONAV TN20 provides turn-by-turn directions via its 3.5-inch touchscreen and speaks street names out loud. It includes over one million points of interest and maps for the continental US from NAVTEQ, which can be searched and displayed in either two- or three-dimensional views. A built-in sensor will adjust the display's colors to make it suitable for nighttime operation.

The MOTONAV TN30 sports a larger, 4.3-inch touchscreen display in a larger housing and contains a more comprehensive list of maps that include Puerto Rico and Canada in addition to the US. There are also four million points of interest pre-loaded on the TN30's memory. This unit includes stereo Bluetooth support and an internal speaker to allow drivers to make hands-free phone calls.

Either navigation systems includes a suction cup for easy mounting on vehicle windshields or dashboards. Both new navigators are capable of displaying speed, distance, arrival time, elevation and distance traveled information, along with a lane guidance system and speed limit display with warning. Users can get directions by accessing their recent destinations, saved favorite locations or new routes by inputting specific addresses. An SD memory card slot allows users to update their maps.

MOTONAV TN20 and TN30 are available solely at Radio Shack and priced at about $200 and $300, respectively.
