Dates for Verizon Moto VU30 and Samsung U650 leaked

Dates for Verizon Moto VU30 and Samsung U650 leakedA Wednesday leak reveals the first photos of what is Motorola’s Rapture VU30 handset and confirms it is coming to carrier Verizon on October 14. The same day will see the release of the Samsung Sway U650 handset in Verizon stores, which was previously seen only on a Verizon rebate sheet.

The Rapture VU30 will replace Motorola’s V9m as a stylish flip phone, and features a 240x320 main display along with a built-in 2-megapixel camera. The music phone has dedicated controls on the front panel and a 2.5mm stereo jack, and supports microSDHC cards up to 8GB in size. Synching with computers and charging the battery is done via a microUSB port. Bluetooth support is included, and the phone can access the web via Verizon‘s Mobile Web 2.0 with Dashboard application.

The Samsung Sway U650 has a slider design and otherwise very similar specs to the Motorola handset. These include a 2-megapixel camera, music player, 8GB microSDHC memory card support, Bluetooth and Mobile Web 2.0. The phone will not be able to access the EVDO network, meaning Verizon’s music download service is not supported, and data must be transferred via the 1X RTT network.

The phones are expected to launch one week earlier online, on October 6th, and cost $129 for the Motorola VU30 handset, while the U650 should come in at $69 after a $50 rebate and on a two-year contract. [viaPhonearena]
