The SCX-4828FN is rated at a 50,000 pages per month duty cycle, has a 250-page tray, and was designed with a low noise level in mind. Its maximum resolution is 1200x1200dpi, while digital scanning can be boosted to as much as 4800x4800dpi. Furthermore, scans can be sent to a PC, an email address, or a connected USB flash drive. The 128MB of integrated memory can be optionally increased to 384MB, with the fax functionality getting a dedicated 3.2MB. The network-ready SCX-4828FN also has several functions that allows it to quickly copy ID cards or other small images onto a single page, or create a large poster by printing a piece of an image on a full page.
The CLX-3175FN is also multifunctional, allowing printing, faxing and scanning, with maximum print speeds of 17ppm in black and white or 4ppm in color and 128MB of integrated memory. Along with the CLP-315/315W, it is capable of a 2400x600dpi output resolution. The network-ready printer has a 150-sheet paper input tray, along with a 15-page auto document feeder and the same ID Card, Poster and Clone functions of the costlier SCX-4828FN. Its monthly duty cycle is 20,000 pages.
Both of the new CLP models, what ASUS calls are the world's smallest and lightest laser color printer, are rated at 17ppm mono and 4ppm color speeds, and share USB 2.0 ports. The CLP-315W adds network compatibility and an 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi connection. Both are rated at 20,000 pages per month duty cycles and share 32MB of built-in memory.
The SCX-4828FN is priced at $500, the CLX-3175FN at $400, the CLP-315 at $200, and the CLP-315W at $250. All are currently available for sale.
