Sprint already selling Palm Treo 800w?

Sprint already selling Palm Treo 800w?Sprint is already selling the Treo 800w smartphone despite a lack of announcements from either Palm or the carrier, according to separate reports. Members of the WM Experts forums say some Sprint stores have been selling the device on an unofficial level and confirm that the device has at least GPS, a 320x320 screen common to full-size Treos, and a thinner design with a better QWERTY keyboard than most Treos. The phone is also said in reports to have Wi-Fi, EVDO Revision A for faster 3G Internet access, and a 2-megapixel camera.

An additional claim would also confirm pricing. The company's phone sales division has reportedly been taking sales as of at least Thursday and is asking $350 for the 800w after signing both a two-year contract and receiving an immediate rebate. A contract-free version costs $600.

Neither Palm nor Sprint has commented on the apparent slip, though those able to make orders may receive them on Friday, just a day after the retail store leaks.
