In anticipation of the coming iPhone 3G launch, Apple has updated several of its pages that prepare customers for a smooth purchase or transition to the new device. A page entitled "Get Ready" is geared towards new or inexperienced users, but also provides a small refresher on the newer commonly-used features of the iPhone 3G. The guide illustrates to users that through the iTunes synchronization, they can be ready "in minutes" with all of their music, contacts, and personal content on the device.
When purchasing the iPhone 3G, Apple will provide an orange-shirted specialist to aid with choosing a plan and device, while also helping the customer understand the basics of the device. Apple advises customers to bring with them a credit card, social security number, a valid government-issued photo ID, and a current wireless account number with password if the customer is new to AT&T.
Corporate customers will not be able to complete their purchases at an Apple store, due to special requirements regarding corporate security practices. The guide also urges those customers to ensure that their company approves of the use of an iPhone 3G as a business device.
In addition to reaffirming sales at both US Apple retail and AT&T sales locations, Apple is also reminding users of their accessory options, such as the Bluetooth headset, dock, power adapter, or coupling the device with a MobileMe subscription.
