The software can reduce compression and sensor noise while improving resolution and correcting the effects of low lighting conditions. With Carmel, users will be able to smooth out choppy videos with frame-rate interpolation, stabilize and smooth motion, restore dark videos and perform other tasks to improve the way their videos look in real time.
MotionDSPs Carmel software is due for a launch in the first quarter of 2009, although pricing information has not been announced and the product may receive a different name. Operating system support hasn't been outlined so far beyond Windows.
