HTC Dream hits FCC, includes T-Mobile 3G

HTC's inaugural Google Android phone the Dream is now cleared for use in the US, a filing with the FCC shows. Listed as the DREA100, the device appears a match for past descriptions and will have not just Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but also the 1,700MHz UMTS support necessary for faster data speeds and better calls on T-Mobile USA's network, both of which should assist Android's data-heavy focus.

An approval effectively speeds up the release of the Dream in the US, clearing the device for its planned introduction no later than November. Software is generally absent from the FCC testing, however, and may affect the launch along with T-Mobile's planned 3G network expansion through October.

The Dream is also known as the G1 and will have an iPhone-like touchscreen interface as well as access to a T-Mobile app store. A three-megapixel camera, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a trackball are also reported as accompanying the device. [viaEngadget]
