Warner Bros. teams with TiVo, Joost, others

Warner Bros. teams with TiVo, Joost, othersWarner Bros. Television is expanding its internet distribution, announcing new deals with TiVo, Joost, Sling Media, Daily Motion and Veoh Networks for a “number of advertiser-supported branded channels.” The deal includes TheWB.com ad KidsWB.com, which were announced in April. The move gives Warner more platforms to broaden its reach in the increasingly crowded television marketplace -- and more opportunities to catch the elusive 16-34 year-old advertising demographic.

The network says the new channels will be free to consumers, and will carry full-length broadcast-style programming drawing from the WB Network and other sources. Two new theme channels will also be created -- one focusing on classic Warner Bros. TV series, and another using the studio’s classic science fiction titles. Warner has already signed similar distribution deals with AOL and Facebook.

The new channels are scheduled to launch in September.
